Privacy Policy
Last updated: 13 September 2026
Sight Word Cards ("the App") is an educational flashcard app for early readers, developed by an independent developer. Your family's privacy is our highest priority.
Data Storage
Learning progress, streaks, quiz results, and custom word lists are stored locally on your device. If Schoolwork Beta is enabled, assigned activity progress and quiz scores can also be reported through Apple Schoolwork in your school’s managed environment.
Data We Collect
We use Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics to understand feature usage and improve app stability. Schoolwork Beta metrics include teacher-page visits, opt-in actions, catalog syncs, assignment opens, activity starts/stops, progress fractions, and operation error codes. These classroom analytics events do not include student names, word text, custom-list titles, or assignment identifiers. We do not use advertising frameworks and do not sell personal data.
Children's Privacy
Sight Word Cards is designed for use by children under parental supervision. We are committed to protecting children's privacy:
- No advertising or third-party data sales
- No social features, chat, or user-generated content sharing
- No behavioral profiling or data monetization
- Settings are protected by a Parent Gate
- Schoolwork progress reporting requires the optional beta to be enabled
Third-Party Services
The App uses Apple's StoreKit for in-app purchases, ClassKit for optional Schoolwork Beta reporting, and Firebase for analytics, crash diagnostics, and feature configuration. These services are governed by their providers' privacy policies, including Apple's Privacy Policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell user data or use it for advertising. Analytics and diagnostics are processed by Firebase; optional Schoolwork activity reporting is handled through Apple and your school. Messages you send through Contact Support are delivered to us so we can respond.
Data Deletion
You can remove local App learning data or request assistance by:
- Deleting the App from your device — this removes its local learning data
- Using the contact form to request assistance
Deleting the app does not itself remove records already reported to Schoolwork or Firebase. Contact your school about Schoolwork records, or contact us for help with analytics and diagnostic data requests.
Changes to This Policy
If we make changes to this privacy policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
